Fameco Group is now owned by a group of people who have held senior positions in Swedish industry and commerce. Company management, who is also a shareholder in the company, is a group of people with varied background and experience. Several people in management have been schooled in the automotive industry and ourselves have been customers with the knowledge and experience that carries with it. Fameco Group owned and operated then by people with broad knowledge and understanding of what is required of a supplier and partner in modern industry.

Product Change - Fastening economy.

The word product has since gained a new meaning, from being equated with a detail that today cover everything from the knowledge and advice in the design stage to production custom packaging and supply models and cost-effective solutions for the supply of spare parts.

As a logical consequence of this has also been the focus shifted from Article lowest price at the lowest overall cost. We are always interested and curious to work with our clients to develop and test new ways to find the best solutions. Even today, we handle such. Subassemblies for some of our customers and in some cases we buy in the details to be included, all for the rational and cost-effective products.

It is not just within our own production and our approach and the approach has evolved and changed. Even in the product area of fasteners, we have gone through the same adjustment to today’s and tomorrow’s demands for a holistic approach with complete service and total cost in focus.

In traditional assembly industry, where fasteners are often used in large quantities, is often the price of the article in the dressing only 20% of the total cost. Engineering, procurement, quality assurance, warehousing, logistics, management, spare parts management, and not least the mounting cost constitutes the major cost base. There is big money to save.

Yet, historically almost all the focus in the quest for lower costs have been on trying to squeeze the item price. Article price will always be important but we also want to help our customer to process the other 80% in the pursuit of cost effectiveness. Many manual processes have been automated and staff involvement, we go more towards our version of ”lean production” and continuous improvement.

The new customized approach has guided the investments made, all to create the width needed to keep up and be a complete partner for the future. This has been as a complement to punching, pressing, wire bending and rolling threading brought investment in manufacturing areas such as turning, laser cutting and hemming.

In the same vein, we are now planning for the next step supplement including welding. What further steps are determined by the needs of tomorrow to meet our customers’ demands for complete products and flexibility.

What happened to the group of family business since Fameco Group was formed? Our focus is developing into a partner with the breadth of processes and product range has become even clearer.

From 10 years ago have been a more traditional process-oriented subcontractors we steered towards becoming a customer- partners. You could say that we’ve gone from trying to find customers and products that fitted our machines to invest and develop solutions that fit our customers’ needs.
